<p> The bedroom is the first place both men and women would go if they had more free time in a day. The catch &#8211; men go there for sex, women for sleep. In a survey, Great Clips, the first ever hair salon brand to introduce time saving online check-in, asked 316 Americans how they would spend 15 minutes of more time in a day. Fifteen minutes is important to Great Clips because Online Check-in has trimmed average haircut wait times by 15 minutes to five minutes or less, giving customers 15 more minutes of time in a day.</p>

<p>1. Survey recipients were given a list of options and asked to choose what they would do with 15 minutes of extra time in a day.&#13;<br />
<br />The #1 choice for most women is sleep (Ranked #1 by nearly 1 in 4 women, 24%)&#13;<br />

<p>  Most Often Ranked in The Top 5 were Sleep, Clean (organizing closets, dust baseboards, mop floors), Read, Watch TV and Exercise. &#13;<br />
  Have Sex was lower on the list after Sit There and Do Nothing with No Disturbances and Cook.
<p>The #1 choice for most men is have sex(Ranked #1 by 28% of men) &#13;<br />

<p>“In all our research, in focus group after focus group, we heard that today’s busy families are stressed out, exhausted and short on time – and today time is money,” says Rhoda Olsen, CEO of Great Clips. “We had to figure out a way to cut wait times and give our customers more free time to have fun and do the things they love to do. Online check-in allows people to check in from their desks or from their smart phones so when they get to the salon they have little or no wait and have more time.”</p>

<p> 87% of respondents say they would use a technology that kept them from waiting in lines at retail stores if it saved them 15 minutes waiting for an appointment.&#13;<br />
  When a retail business makes them wait more than 15 minutes:&#13;<br />
     63%say it shows bad customer service and a lack of respect for their time&#13;<br />
     52% of respondents say they don’t go back and take their business elsewhere&#13;<br />
     48% say they assume the business is poorly managed&#13;<br />
     Only 19% say they get annoyed with the people in line with them. &#13;<br />
  9 out of 10 respondents (93%) said a reasonable amount of time to wait at a retail business is 5 – 10 minutes or less.&#13;<br />
  2 out of 3 respondents say they would use a check-in or download app that saved their place in line at a retail business.

<p> With the exponential growth of breast augmentation as the top plastic surgery procedure performed by plastic surgeons in America, New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Paul M. Parker, MD, believes it is imperative that women know their implant options, including sizes and types of implants. <p>The Parker Center does their Sizing Sessions in three stages. Patients are always free to return and to try alternate sizes prior to surgery.  Liz Kobb, digital technician at the Parker Center takes photos of patients “wearing” the implants.  The photos are then uploaded to the Parker Center website, and with a special passcode patients can access their own photos from any computer.  This allows breast augmentation patients time to contemplate their new look and the ability to show friends, loved ones and others how they should look after surgery.</p>

<p>Also, the Parker Center uses a unique set of protocols called the Rapid Recovery Program which allows a patient to heal in a short period of time, with less bruising, swelling and pain than they otherwise would. This program includes vitamins, herbs, medications and three post-operative lymphatic drainage massage sessions which are all included in the surgical package.  Patients are often surprised at the ease of their recovery.</p>

<p>For breast augmentation, New Jersey patients have a variety of options.  Implants are available with both saline and silicone material inside a silicone shell.  Saline implants are empty and filled to the desired size during surgery.  Silicone implants are sized in 25cc increments allowing for small size adjustments.  The main advantage of silicone over saline implants is that they have a softer, more natural feel with less rippling of the implant edges.</p>

<p>Depending on the type of result the patient is looking for, Dr. Parker can use different profiles of silicone implants. Profile refers to the projection of the implant. Implants are available in low, moderate, moderate plus and high profiles. Implants are also available in round and teardrop shaped.</p>

<p>“In the majority of patients I use a silicone, round, moderate plus implant. I believe that this type of implant gives the majority of my patients the shape, volume and projection they’re looking for with a natural look. Patients who are looking for more projection generally select a high profile implant specifically to get a prominent look,” explained Dr. Parker.</p>

<p>With an almost limitless combination of material, size, profile and shape available in breast implants today, breast augmentation patients can easily become overwhelmed. <p> A technical report from a University of Houston Department of Health and Human Performance researcher finds that students in a hybrid class that incorporated instructional technology with in-class lectures scored a letter grade higher on average than their counterparts who took the same class in a more traditional format.  </p>

<p>Dr. Brian McFarlin, a researcher and assistant professor at the University of Houston created e-learning courses using Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio Pro and incorporated this in conjunction with classroom lectures.  His traditional Kinesiology class met twice a week for a 90-minute lecture in a large auditorium.  Alternatively, his hybrid class met once a week for traditional 90-minute lectures augmented with Articulate-created e-learning courses.  The courses were accessed by students from the University’s WebCT Learning Management System (LMS).</p>

<p>“The main reasons I chose Articulate was for its ease-of-use and the quality of the output,” said Dr. McFarlin.  “If you can use PowerPoint, then your learning curve is minimal and the results are really engaging.  I also like how easily Articulate produces SCORM output that lets me publish my courses to our University LMS for student access and tracking.”  </p>

<p>Student feedback regarding the hybrid teaching model was extremely positive. &#8221;I was surprised that the increase in student grades was so dramatic,&#8221; continued Dr. McFarlin.  “I personally think that the hybrid format is the wave of the future.” </p>

<p>“I constantly hear about the outstanding results that college instructors are getting using Articulate software to produce online courses that supplement or replace traditional lectures,” said Tom Kuhlmann, Articulate’s vice president of community and author of the Rapid E-Learning Blog.  &#8221;It’s great that a research study has been published that supports these anecdotal results.&#8221;</p>
